| I downloaded the map pack but I can't find the server. Am I doing something wrong or is the server down? I guess the better question is how do I type in the server address in game? The only thing I really see is a place for "add tags". Thanks in advance | |

| I'll make a more obvious post somewhere on connecting to the servers, I don't think I have that laid out anywhere. Server says it's up, if you open the console (~ key by default, assuming you have it enabled via the advanced options in your options menu). Usually you can only open the console if your ingame, so you might have to create your own game really fast then open the console. Once there, if you type in: connect 72.5.102.213:27016. This applies for any server, and will directly connect you to that IP. Hope your able to find it, I'll be on it later tonight probably since our other servers are having issues | |

| OK so I opened the console up (didn't have to make my own game) and this is what I got:
Connecting to public(72.5.102.213:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 72.5.102.213:27016 --- Missing Vgui material vgui/icons/unit_assist --- Missing Vgui material vgui/icons/unit_assist Retrying public(72.5.102.213:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 72.5.102.213:27016 Retrying public(72.5.102.213:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 72.5.102.213:27016 Retrying public(72.5.102.213:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 72.5.102.213:27016 Retrying public(72.5.102.213:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 72.5.102.213:27016 Retrying public(72.5.102.213:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 72.5.102.213:27016 Retrying public(72.5.102.213:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 72.5.102.213:27016 Retrying public(72.5.102.213:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 72.5.102.213:27016 Retrying public(72.5.102.213:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 72.5.102.213:27016 Retrying public(72.5.102.213:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 72.5.102.213:27016 Connection failed after 10 retries.
Is this something on my end ( Missing Vgui material vgui/icons/unit_assist ) or the servers end? I downloaded the files and drug the files into the Nuclear Dawn folder as instructed.

| Did you download the zombie map also? I changed the map to one that is included in the map pack, tell me if that allows you to connect. | |

| Nope still can't get in. Let me ask another question: When I down loaded the map pack (the first one) I just dragged and dropped into the nuclear dawn folder. I noticed that inside of the main ND folder there's another one the says Nuclear Dawn and it has a folder that says Maps in it. Am I suppose to put it in that folder or in the 'first' ND folder? If so what about the other folders that are included? I just don't want to screw around all day with this stuff. | |

| If your on windows, you want to drop the extracted nuclear dawn folder into your first nuclear dawn folder so that the nuclear dawn folder inside the nuclear dawn folder merges with the extracted nuclear dawn folder If your on a Mac, or want to manually move the files, you should be able to copy all the content from the map pack and put it into the corresponding folders (so all the content in the maps folder for the map pack you copy into the steamapps/common/nuclear dawn/nucleardawn/maps folder, and so on with the other stuff). Sorry if the instructions I put in there suck, they will be better for the updated map pack. Hope that helps, anxious to hear you get it working | |

| Hmmm that's what I did. One more question: I moved the 4 separate files into the main ND folder. Do I need to leave the downloaded files in the ND folder and just move the 'folder' (instead of the 4 separate files) into the main ND file? (Hope I haven't confused you to bad lol) Now the zombie download was only one file (map) That just goes into the main ND folder like the other download correct? | |

| Are you putting the files in the maps, materials, and what ever else? Not placing them directly into the Nuclear Dawn folder?
And it doesn't matter if they are still in the original .zip or not, it won't be reading from that location.

| No I just dropped them straight into the ND main folder as is. (unzipped) I was thinking that I needed to put them into their separate files but I wasn't sure. | |

| Yea, you'll want to move the files into the maps folders and stuff. We will be releasing the updated v5.0 map pack in an hour or so, it will have very specific and straight forward instructions if you want to hold off | |

| Ok, it'll have to wait. Apparently, being the shitty server it is, all the files are screwed up and won't copy when I say copy. So it'll take an extra 2 hours to fix it, which I don't want to do at this instant | |

| OK 2 things: First the address that you posted yesterday in the above replay was different than the one you posted for the new beta . And I still can not connect. When I put the file in their corresponding places, nothing happens. Now when I put them in the first Nuclear Dawn folder in the main files, it's still not working but it tries to connect. connect 74.91.113.131:27016 Connecting to public(74.91.113.131:27016) Sending UDP connect to public IP 74.91.113.131:27016 --- Missing Vgui material vgui/icons/unit_assist --- Missing Vgui material vgui/icons/unit_assist Server using '<none>' lobbies, requiring pw no, lobby id 0 RememberIPAddressForLobby: lobby 0 from address 74.91.113.131:27016 CSteam3Client::InitiateConnection: 74.91.113.131:27016 --- Missing Vgui material vgui/resource/icon_vac Connected to 74.91.113.131:27016
Nuclear Dawn Map: destruction_v1 Players: 1 (0 bots) / 32 humans Build: 4727 Server Number: 1
Host_Error: CMapLoadHelper::Init, unable to open maps/destruction_v1.bspNow this says it's an host error. But I'm assuming that its still on my end?

| Success! I had to put the map files into the maps instead of dragging and dropping the map folder. (It put another map folder instead of merging) I had to do the same thing with the materials as well but none the less it worked. | |
