So who's working on a new map?

Besides Sniv's super secret map with a billion trees? I stopped production on my oilfield map seeing as how Interwave has decided to release their's. (I'll continue work on it after the release) I have 2 more thoughts but one involves a Navy ship yard but I notice there are already sub's and boats in the props so I'm going to assume that Interwave has that on they're agenda.

I'll have some free time starting Friday as I'm going out of state for a few days so I'll bee mapping on paper my next one......

What map



The navy shit is for Silo (left secondary from consort is above a sub, lots of shit on the right also). And I think there's a sub in clocktower to left of consort base somewhere.... I doubt IW is making a map like that

Make it destructible

Very destructible.....

Anyway is there a way to go 'inside' a prop other than making a box and placing it inside with a the edge of the box sticking out for a door? I don't think there is but I'm just asking.

On another note, I'm going to make a web site after I get back from some R&R next week dedicated to mod map making for ND. A place where anyone who makes maps can go to share ideas and store/download files. An example of this type of site can be found that one of my buddies has here: www.ro2modmaps.com It's not a clan site but rather a place for modders to go with help and questions. I feel once the gamers start making maps for this game it will at least continue to exist. I know Steam has their forums but I would like to break away from Steam some.

It seems offline right now, or down, but Interwave has a Nuclear Dawn section with a Community Content section most people post in, they also have a upload/download system for finished maps or something.

As for the prop, not sure if I'm following, but your saying have a submarine prop say on the surface, then you can climb down through a ladder that's in the hull, then go into a part of the map you made that's not actually inside the prop? I don't think so. You should be able to fairly easily make a submarine or other hull type from blocks and the vertex tool. And how much is "Very destructible"

I think my maps blow from a destruction perspective, and the majority of them are fully destructible except for a frame that I use so that if pieces of the floor/wall are floating, it doesn't seem weird since the frame of the building is intact. I think a 95% destructible map isn't enough, how much are you planning

P.S.- I can give you the .vmf of my destruction sandbox if you want to look at how it's setup, and it's what I use as a baseline for all my maps with destruction since it's very well tuned and has tons of hours of testing to find the optimum settings; assuming you have destructible walls and stuff

Thanks and yes let me take a look see at yours....... I forgot about the vector tool cause I need to make some stuff round. i was doing a little research today on how to make props that you can put into your game maps but didn't find a lot. (I need to spend more time on that)
